Nanomaterials for Sensing and Biosensing Applications

Dear Colleagues,

Nanomaterial-based sensors and biosensors have shown tremendous potential in food safety, environmental monitoring and pollution control, disease diagnosis and home monitoring, and biological process control due to it being fast, accurate, and portable, as well as many other features. This is one of the research frontiers and development directions in the field of international analytical chemistry. With the development of the economy, the human standard of living has improved rapidly and the way of living and working has changed, so chronic diseases have become the main disease burden. Furthermore, sub-health, food safety, and environmental issues are also concerns for the whole of society. Thus, the study on nanomaterial-based sensors/biosensors and their applications is of great significance to benefit society.

This Special Issue, entitled “Nanomaterials for Sensing and Biosensing Applications”, aims to collect the most recent research that focuses on the development of nanomaterials for sensing and biosensing applications in food safety, environmental monitoring, and disease diagnosis. Manuscripts should provide content that is accessible to general audiences working in the field of sensing systems.

Topics of interest for this Special Issue include (but are not limited to) the following:

1. Novel 2D/3D sensing nanomaterial and its application;
2. Nanomaterial-based colorimetric sensing and its application;
3. Novel nanomaterial for point-of-care testing application;
4. Nanomaterial-based electrochemical sensing and its application;
5. Surface-enhanced Raman scattering sensing and its application.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
